Basic Mong Masoor Daal

( yellow )mong daal 1/2 cup
( pink )masoor daal 1/2 cup
tomato medium 1 peeled and chopped
green chilies 3,4
curry leaves 6
chicken cube 1
garlic paste 1 tsp
salt to taste
red chili flakes 1/2 tsp
red chili pwd 1 tsp
turmeric 1/2 tsp

for tempering:
cumin seeds 1 tsp
whole red chilies 5,6
curry leaves
chopped garlic 1/2 bunch
ghee 3 tbsp
soak daal in water for 10 mins.
put in a pot and add all spices.
mix and cover the lid half way and cook at least 20 to 30 mins on slow flame.
when it gets tender make tempering for it.
preheat ghee and add button red chilies and chopped garlic.
sautey for 2 mins and add curry leaves with cumin seeds.
when garlic turns golden pour the tempering on daal .mix it gently and serve with rice or chapati.
