Namibias Giant Deserts Nature Documentary
Namibia is a vast, sparsely populated country in the southwest of the African continent. Just 2 million people live in an area twice the size of Germany. In the central highlands, the endless steppe of the Kalahari stretches to the horizon. Further west, the escarpment to the coast offers rugged mountains, deeply carved gorges and the mighty orange sand dunes of the Namib Desert. 1500 kilometers of deserted sandy beaches are washed by the ice-cold waters of the Atlantic, which often cause the dense coastal fog that is notorious among sailors. Namibia is also a piece of German history. Its time as a German colony lasted only 30 years at the end of the nineteenth century, but its legacy and the German language can still be seen at every turn. Above all, however, Namibia is a magnificent piece of Africa with breathtaking landscapes and a wildlife that is second to none
