Once thought only as the sleepy creature residing in Eucalyptus trees, research now paints a different picture. Koala Country is the story of one young male koala from his birth to the time when he becomes the dominant male of a patch of eucalyptus forest. During his journey he must overcome the obstacles that have always been a part of a koala’s life. There are natural predators, such as pythons and owls, that easily could take a joey. Koalas must survive the extremes of the climate, from winter storms to searing heat and drought causing wild fires that have been a part of the Australian ecosystem for countless millions of years
