The island of Palawan is about 270 miles (430 km) long and has a maximum width of about 24 miles (39 km). A relatively high mountain ridge runs along the length of the island, including Mantalingajan peak 2,085 m above sea level. This central mountain range is interrupted at Honda Bay.
