Germany's first female cruise captain is Nicole Langosch. Only nine women in the world are in command of passenger ships. The 34-year-old from Herborn completed her training as a cruise captain in March and took over the AIDAsol. Her first big tour leads to the fjords of Norway. The route is considered challenging by captains. Many mountains, rocks, narrow waterways, wind and unsettled weather demand the utmost concentration from the officers on the bridge and their captain.
