Every year, around 200,000 monkeys in Peru, mostly babies, fall victim to illegal trafficking. Isla de los Monos provides a refuge for these young animals, giving them a second chance after being taken from their mothers or affected by hunting. Jungle Juniors follows the struggles of three young monkeys—Emita, a spider monkey, Rusa, a howler monkey, and Celia, a woolly monkey—as they adapt to life on the island without their mothers. Emita must earn acceptance from the island's only other female spider monkey, Lucera, while Rusa faces the challenge of learning how to howl alone. Celia, rescued after her mother was killed by hunters, must find her place among a troop of woolly monkeys. Meanwhile, other young animals, like a clutch of yellow-spotted river turtles and a baby caiman, race to survive the dangerous jungle, proving the struggle for survival on Isla de los Monos is just beginning
