FIRST DRIVE: The Civic Type R is here and Honda has made some big changes for 2023. This hot hatch competes with the Toyota GR Corolla, Hyundai Elantra N, VW GTI, VW Golf R and VW Jetta GLI. Under the hood is now 315HP & mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. On the outside the only thing shared with a standard Civic hatchback are the front doors, roof, and rear hatch. On the inside there is the return of red carpet, performance seats and new digital gauge cluster.
