Despite the hostile environment, golden eagles begin their courtship in winter, mating frequently before the female lays her egg in April. Eagles carefully guard and incubate their eggs, with both parents taking turns. After hatching, the chicks grow quickly as the parents provide food. Though survival is the priority, weather and competition from other predators can challenge the eagle’s ability to thrive, especially in unpredictable mountain climates.
