Battle for Survival Lions vs Hyenas in the Wild Full Documentary

A pride of lions has hidden its cubs between rocks and boulders. The many cracks and crevices offer ideal hiding places, so the lionesses can spread out to hunt in the surrounding grasslands. This is where they run into their rivals, a large clan of around 80 spotted hyenas. ‘Duel of the Hunters’ shows how lionesses and hyena mothers employ completely different strategies to get their still helpless offspring through the first dangerous weeks of their lives. Spotted hyenas are by far the more effective hunters. They chase their prey to complete exhaustion. Lions on the other hand are patient ambush hunters. Hunting in groups they even manage to overpower very well-equipped buffalo. But it is not unusual for hyenas to challenge them for control of their spoils.With the rains come awe-inspiring herds of wildebeest. Strange lions from afar follow the herds…ensuring the young local lions have tough times ahead. At the same time the eternal back-and-forth with the hyenas continues…
