Sporting bulging fenders, plus-size aggressive tires, a wider track, and a lifted suspension, it's tempting to pigeon-hole the Ranger Raptor as nothing more than an F-150 Raptor mini-me. Though it does share the traditional body-on-frame pickup construction and a styling theme, its smaller size, shorter wheelbase, and lighter overall weight give it a distinct personality of its own. It's easier to wield down tight, tree-lined trails and traffic-choked urban areas, and the thrust of its 405-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 engine is but a tap of the accelerator away. Multiple drive modes optimize its performance whatever the situation, including blazing across washouts and dirt moguls. Fox dampers work with the Raptor-specific suspension geometry to keep things remarkable civil, including when touching down from brief airborne excursions. Available only as a crew cab with five-foot bed, perhaps its greatest achievement is how easily it can slip into the comparably dull day-to-day routine without enforcing a comfort penalty in exchange for its off-road charms. It is that multi-tool-like versatility mixed with its go-pedal gusto that helped secure the Ranger Raptor a spot on our 2025 10Best Trucks list
