coconut karahi
chicken 1/2 kg
oil or oil with butter 1 cup
salt to taste
white pepper pwd 1 tsp full
coriander pwd 1 tbsp
dry roasted and crushed black pepper 8 to 10
dry roasted and crushed cumin 1 tbsp
coconut grated 2 tbsp full
milk 4 tbsp
garlic 1 whole
ginger 1.1/2 inch piece
green chilies 4,6
fresh cream 2,3 tbsp
coconut milk 1/2 cane
yogurt 1 cup
lemon juice 2 tbsp
ginger julian 1 inch
green chilies slitted 5,6
paste of 1 large onion
coriander leaves 2 tbsp
first make a paste of grated coconut with milk and set it a side.
make onion paste with out water.
make a chatni of ginger,garlic and green chilies
now marinate chicken with chatni,yogurt and spices except dry roasted cumin and black pepper .
keep it in the fridge for 1/2 hour.
now pour oil in a pan and sautey onion paste
when just change its color add coconut paste.
cook un til all water gets dry
add marinated chicken with all marination.
cook on med high flame un till it changes its color and water gets dry
now pour half of the cane of coconut milk in it,mix and cover it.
cook on med low flame to cook chicken completely.
when chicken is done add ginger sliced,green chilies and dry roasted masala.
mix and add fresh cream in it.
again mix and sprinkle coriander leaves on top .
simmer for one minute and serve.
