Learn how to make delicious Sooji Ka Halwa, just like Burns Road karachi ki halwa poori style halwa. Very simple ingredients and easy recipe. Sooji Halwa is a very popular sweet dish in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh

To make this Delicious halwa you need!
ingredients
1/2 cup semolina (sooji)
3⁄4 cup sugar
1 cup water
1/4 cup raisins (kish mish)
1/4 cup almonds cut in slices (badam)
1⁄4 teaspoon green cardamom powder (choti elaichi)
6 to 7 tablespoons ghee
1/8 teaspoon orange food colour

Directions

In a pan add sugar, water and orange food colour. Boil it for ten to 15 mins or till sugar get dissolved and syrup come to boil.

Turn off the heat, Sheera is ready.

In a separate pan roast the semolina (sooji) and add ghee in it. Keep on stirring it till the semolina turns a bit darker or golden brown and give off an aroma.

The roasted semolina (sooji) will have the grainy consistency of wet sand. Now gently add the Sheera (sugar syrup) to the semolina (sooji) and mix it well.

Cook it for 2 minutes, Once the water dries up & the semolina puffs a little bit.

Now lower the heat at very low temperature, cover it and let it cook,
After 2 to 3 minutes add raisins and mix them in the mixture.

Cover it again and cook the mixture on low heat 10 to 12
minutes or until it is thick or your desired consistency.

Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool to a warm
temperature and take out in a serving dish.

Garnish with almond, serve hot with poories.
