Learn how to make Chinese Chicken Chow Mein Noodles, It is a classic and very popular chow mein noodles recipe. This is the all-time family favorite and perfect for the weekend family dinner. I like to serve it with green chilies vinegar and hot sauce on the side.

Ingredients:
1 pk chow mein noodles
1 pound (500 grams) boneless chicken breasts cut into very thin slices
For marination;
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon light soy sauce
4 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 cup oil would be needed for frying chicken and vegetables
For sauce;
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 teaspoon grated garlic
4 tablespoon light soy sauce
1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon hot sauce
2 tablespoon hoisin sauce
2 tablespoon white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon red chili powder
2 tablespoon sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon chinese salt ajinomoto (optional)
2 tablespoons oil
1/2 medium size onion cut in slices
1 cup julienne cabbage green onions ,
1/2 cup julienne carrots
1/2 cup julienne green onions
And 1/2 cup julienne green onions for garnishing
DIRECTIONS;
Cook the chow mein noodles according to package directions, drain well, and set aside.
Marinate the chicken: Add the sliced chicken breasts then add ½ teaspoon salt 1 teaspoons red chili powder 2 teaspoons soy sauce and cornstarch in a small bowl, and toss to completely coat. Set aside.
Heat the oil in a very large skillet or wok. When oil is hot, but not smoking, add the chicken mixture, and stir fry until the chicken is cooked through and light brown. Remove the chicken to a plate, set aside and keep warm.
Again heat the oil in same skillet or wok, and then add the cabbage, carrots, green onions stir fry for a couple of minutes until the vegetables begin to wilt. Remove the vegetables to a plate and set aside.
Add the rest of the oil to the skillet (2 tablespoon) then add grated ginger and garlic stir fry a couple of minutes. Add the sliced onions, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, hot sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, red chili powder, sugar, salt, chinese salt and vinegar. Add the noodles, fried chicken and vegetables toss to well combine. Add the julienne green onions before serving and give it a well toss again.
Transfer the chicken chow mein to a serving platter and Serve immediately
