BIRTH OF A WATERBUG

The Abedus sp., Also known as the Ferocious Waterbug is a predatory aquatic insect. They can be found in creeks and ponds. Their bite causes excruciating pain to humans and will paralyze their prey, which consists of fish, invertebrates, and amphibians. This video shows the birth process. It is the males that carry the eggs around on their back. I find this to be a very cool species of insect. They breathe air through their abdomen and water quality is not as important to keep them happy.
