dhaba style daal mash
mash daal 1.5 cups soaked for 30 mins in hot water then cooked in less water 80 %
and save 1 cup water from boiled daal for further use
1 inch ginger chopped and some strings for garnishing
green chilies
salt 1 tsp
red chili crushed 1 tsp
cumin 1 tsp
coriander pwd 1/2 tbsp
turmeric 1/4 tsp
red chili pwd 1/2 tsp
coriander 3 tbsp
garam amsala pwd 1/2 tsp
yogurt 3 tbsp
ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
hieng 1 small piece
qasoori methi 1 tsp
pour 1/2 cup ghee in a pot and add heing and chopped ginger.saute 30 sec
add onion and cook til gets soft
then add G.G paste with all spices
when spices cooked for a min add tomatoes with half cup water and cook
when tomato gets tender and look like a paste add boiled daal in it and mix well.
now add yogurt and cook it on high flame til oil comes out.
then add chopped green chilies,qasoori methi ,garam masala pwd,coriander and remaining water of daal,mix well
cook it for another 5,6 mins on low flame.and when daal become tender serve it with naaan and salad
