The best view of tidal bores of the Qiantang River in east China's Zhejiang Province appeared on Wednesday.
The Qiantang tidal bores this year are the largest compared with those in the past ten years.
Tens of thousands of tourists gathered in the cities of Haining and Xiaoshan to view the natural wonders: the intersection angle tide, one-line tide and back-flow tide.
It happened to be the 18th day of the 8th lunar month, when the largest tidal bores would appear.
The tide continued to hit the dams one after another, and pounded a corner of the river-wall to form a huge back-flow bore as high as 20 meters, with a speed of 30 kilometers per hour
